Privacy Policy
QRKit: QR Scanner & Generator is a QR code scanner and generator built with privacy as a first-class feature. This policy describes what we collect, why, and your control over it.
1. Who we are
Operator: QRKit: QR Scanner & Generator team, an indie developer based in Vietnam (TNMedia). Contact: contact@goseedup.com.
2. Data we collect
Account information (optional)
You can use QRKit: QR Scanner & Generator as a guest with no account at all - scanning and static QR code generation work fully without signing in. If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple to create dynamic QR codes:
- Email address (for sign-in and account recovery)
- Display name, provided by your Google/Apple account
Content you create
- Dynamic QR code destination URLs - stored on our server so the redirect keeps working when you change the destination
- Static QR codes and scan history - stored locally on your device only, never uploaded unless you explicitly enable sync
Camera and photo access
Camera access is used only while actively scanning a QR code or barcode - frames are processed on-device and never recorded or uploaded. Photo library access is requested only if you choose to scan a QR code from an existing image, and only the selected image is read for that one scan.
Technical data
- Device platform, app version, locale
- Basic usage analytics (screens viewed, crash reports) via Firebase Analytics - helps us find and fix bugs
- Scan analytics for YOUR OWN dynamic QR codes (country, device type, timestamp of each scan) - visible only to you, used to power the Pro analytics dashboard
What we do NOT collect
- Precise location / GPS
- Contacts / address book
Advertising
QRKit: QR Scanner & Generator includes optional rewarded video ads, provided by Google AdMob. They are never shown automatically: an ad plays only when you choose to watch one in order to unlock a period of dynamic-QR editing without paying. If you never tap that button, no ad is ever requested.
These ads are requested as non-personalised. QRKit does not track you: we do not ask for permission to use your device's advertising identifier, and we do not link what you do in the app with data from other companies for advertising. Google AdMob still receives the coarse technical data any ad request carries - device type and the country derived from your IP address - which it uses to serve and measure that single ad.
AdMob separately notifies our server that you finished watching so we can credit your account. That message contains only your QRKit account ID and the ad transaction ID.
3. Why we collect it
- Keep your dynamic QR codes redirecting correctly, even across app reinstalls
- Authenticate you securely if you choose to sign in
- Show you scan analytics for codes you created (Pro feature)
- Diagnose crashes and improve app stability
4. How long we keep it
Account and dynamic-QR data is kept until you delete your account or the specific QR code. After account deletion we permanently remove personal data within 30 days. Local scan history stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app.
5. Subscriptions and one-time purchases
Apple App Store or Google Play processes all payments - we never see or store your card details. Receipt/purchase validation happens server-side using Apple's official receipt API and Google Play's signed purchase data. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled in your device's subscription settings.
6. Third parties
- Google Firebase - authentication, crash reporting, and basic usage analytics
- Google AdMob - serving and measuring the optional rewarded video ads described above
- Apple / Google - payment processing for Pro subscriptions
None of these third parties receive personally identifiable information beyond what's strictly required to provide the service.
7. Your rights
Under GDPR, CCPA, and Vietnam's Cybersecurity Law you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to or restrict processing. Email contact@goseedup.com to exercise any of these rights - we respond within 30 days.
8. Children
QRKit: QR Scanner & Generator is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. Guest mode (no sign-in) requires no account information at all.
9. Changes
If we materially change how we handle data, we will notify you in-app and by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
